Welcome
In 2002, SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES made a strategic diversification decision and entered into the magneto-electronic industry by providing innovative thin film deposition systems.
SINGULUS is now manufacturing the second generation of their TIMARIS PVD bridge tool for wafer sizes up to 300 mm diameter. Besides first deliveries for MRAM technology, SINGULUS has shipped and qualified a number of systems to the Hard Disk Drive industry for the volume production of Thin Film Heads (TFHs).
SINGULUS is also collaborating with Qimonda to qualify the TIMARIS for a standard semiconductor application in the frame of the SEA-NET project, an European-funded integrated project including 27 industrial and institutional partners. All TIMARIS applications require the deposition of ultra – thin metallic and insulating films and film stacks down to thicknesses of a nanometer and below with extremely high thickness and material uniformity specifications.
With the special capabilities of the TIMARIS and the addressed capital equipment market for this type of machine a strategic decision was made to convert the respective business unit into “SINGULUS NANO DEPOSITION TECHNOLOGIES GmbH” (NDT), effective by July 1st, 2007.
The SINGULUS’ strategy is to become a first class equipment vendor for a wider range of applications other than optical discs. The goal and vision of SINGULUS NANO DEPOSITION TECHNOLOGIES is to manufacture and deliver technologically innovative equipment and to provide superior service to all customers in the Magnetic Storage and Semiconductor industry.
